- SPONSOR CERTIFICATES INFORMATION
  
  DUE BEFORE THE END OF FEBRUARY
  All candidates must submit a Confirmation Sponsor Eligibility Certificate. This is obtained by the sponsor from the sponsor's parish.
  
  There are very certain requirements for someone to be a sponsor for Confirmation:
  
  Over 16 years of age, male or female
  
  Has made their own Confirmation
  
  Must be a registered member of a Roman Catholic Parish and attend mass regularly
  
  May be married or single. If married, must have been married in the church before a priest or deacon.
  
  If not a member of Blessed Sacrament, must be able to obtain a “certificate of eligibility” from the parish they attend.
  
  Sponsors CANNOT BE a parent or step-parent. Godparents and Grandparents are ok.
  
  In addition, your sponsor should be someone who you are comfortable with and who you will be able to communicate with regularly, either in person or another way. There will be some discussion assignments that you and your sponsor will need to complete together.
