Come and join as we worship our Lord Jesus Christ in both word and song!
All children who are members of the parish are welcome to join the Children’s Choir of Blessed Sacrament Church. Boys and Girls in grades 1-7 rehearse weekly from October to June, sing each weekend at the 9am Mass on Sunday, join in the annual Christmas Concert, join in the music at the 5pm Christmas Eve Mass, and sing with the Adult Choir at the 7:30pm Mass on Holy Thursday. Through their hard work and dedication, the choristers will develop a commitment to excellence through the choral art, learn self-discipline, confidence, and the importance of giving back to their church community through the gift of music. The Children’s Choir rehearses on Thursday afternoons in the Music Room in the Parish Center from 6-6:30pm.
The Adult Choir is comprised of those in the 8th Grade, high school aged teenagers, and adults who enhance the liturgy through music at the 10:30am Mass each weekend, as well as liturgies on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Confirmation, Holy Week, Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday. It is a mixture of both traditional and contemporary liturgical music in either four part (soprano, alto, tenor and bass) or three part (soprano, alto and bass) for the hymns, choral anthems and mass settings at the liturgies. Rehearsals take place at 7:30-9pm on Thursdays in the music room. We are always looking for new members to grow in order to spread the good word of Jesus, and to praise God, for all his gifts he bestows on us each and every day. No experience in necessary; musicianship and vocal training are part of the weekly rehearsals. Members are encouraged to work on their music away from rehearsals.
