Children’s Mass

A Children’s Liturgy of the Word is celebrated once a month. Children from Pre-Kindergarten to 2nd Grade are invited to the altar to hear a homily prepared by Father Rick especially for them. After the homily, the children leave the church, and go to a classroom for a religious craft. After the Mass, parents pick up their children from that classroom.

Parents are asked to come to mass a few minutes early so they can register their children in the narthex. The schedule for the Children’s Mass is in the Bulletin.

St. Peregrine Mass

Mass in honor of St. Peregrine, the Patron Saint of Cancer victims, takes place on the first Saturday of the month at 12 Noon. The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is administered during the Mass. Prayer cards and medals of St. Peregrine are also available.

Anointing of the Sick

For those of advanced age and for those of any age who are seriously ill, contact the Rectory.

Stations of the Cross

Fridays during Lent at 7:00 pm.  Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament follows the Stations.

Baptisms

Arrangements are to be made in advance. Parents are to attend one pre-Baptism class, held every first Wednesday of the month. Godparents must have a letter indicating they are Catholics in good standing. One non-Catholic may be accepted as a Christian witness. Baptisms are celebrated on teh second Sunday of each month at the 1:00 PM ceremony.

Policy for Certificates of Eligibility

In order to receive a certificate of eligibility to be a sponsor for Baptism or Confirmation, you must be a practicing Catholic. One of the main aspects of a practicing Catholic is regular attendance at Mass on Sundays and Holy Days. The only way we can confirm such attendance is by the use of envelopes. Please be sure to use your Church Envelopes to avoid problems or embarrassment in the future.

Weddings

The policy of the Diocese of Metuchen asks that arrangements be made one year in advance. Engaged couples should make an appointment to meet with the Priest at the rectory to determine the date for the marriage and have it officially registered.

Funerals

Please call the rectory to discuss arrangements for a funeral mass.

To assist in selecting music for a funeral mass, our Director of Liturgical Music has prepared a selection of songs from the Gather Hymnal. Please select four songs for a funeral liturgy.
